Dr Nirupam Purkayastha, qualified from Barts and The London School of Medicine at Queen Mary University in 2008. He subsequently went on to acquire a PhD from the William Harvey Research Institute in April 2021 with particular focus on joint ultrasound in inflammatory arthritis and joint tissue gene analysis. His work was published in Annals of Rheumatic Diseases journal in 2018 and he strives to continue producing novel research that will benefit the arthritis community. He obtained his specialist registration in both General Internal Medicine and Rheumatology in 2020 and has previously worked at King’s College Hospital in London.

His drive and determination to provide the best care for his patient’s means he is always exploring new methods to manage patient symptoms. Thus, he is currently working on novel therapy to manage chronic pain, which he hopes to start up in the near future (please review our news section to see updates).

Dr Anika Morjaria, qualified from Barts and The London School of Medicine at Queen Mary University in 2012. She takes pride in teaching and obtained a post graduate certification in Clinical Education at King’s College University in 2014. She obtained her specialist FRCR registration in radiology in 2021. Dr Morjaria undertook higher subspecialist training in musculoskeletal and gynaecology imaging at St Georges University Hospital and Barts Health NHS Trust and currently has a permanent role as an NHS radiologist in London North West University Hospitals. Dr Morjaria routinely performs specialist gynaecology ultrasound including fertility ultrasound and ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal interventions. She actively teaches radiology trainees at national educational events and has a passion for teaching and promoting gynae-radiology.
